My Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Card Game Review — The Problem
Finding a card game that's actually fun for kids is really hard. Most games have too many rules and I get bored after playing once. My mom bought us like 5 different card games and they just sit in our game closet because they're not fun.
The worst part is when games say they're for kids but then you need an adult to help you understand how to play. That's not fun at all. I want to play games with my friends without asking my mom to explain stuff every 5 minutes.
I also hate when card games take forever. Like an hour is way too long. I want to play something quick after school before dinner. And most card games are boring because you just sit there and think instead of doing something fun.
My friend Emma brought over some card games for a sleepover and they were all terrible. One game had like 20 different rules and we gave up after 10 minutes. Another one was supposed to be funny but it wasn't funny at all.
So I tested Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Wildly Entertaining Card Game for Family and Group Game Night | Easy to Learn and Play with 10-15 Minute Rounds | Fun for Kids, Teens, Adults, and Families | 2-8 Players to see if it actually delivers.
First Impressions & Unboxing
The box is pretty small, like the size of my hand. It's bright and colorful with pictures of tacos and cats and pizza on it. The box feels sturdy and didn't get bent up even though Amazon threw it on our porch.
Inside there's just a deck of cards. That's it. No complicated game board or tiny pieces that get lost under the couch. The cards are thick and feel good when you hold them. They're bigger than regular playing cards but not huge.
The cards have really funny pictures on them. There's a taco wearing sunglasses and a cat that looks grumpy and a piece of pizza with a face. The artwork made me laugh right away.
You don't need to set anything up. Just take the cards out of the box and you can start playing in like 30 seconds. No reading a big instruction book or putting together game pieces. My little brother could probably figure it out.
The whole thing weighs almost nothing. I can carry it in my backpack to school or to my friend's house super easily.
Key Features That Actually Matter
The best thing about this game is how simple it is. You just flip cards and say words. When certain cards come up, you have to slap the pile really fast. That's basically the whole game. No complicated rules to remember.
The cards are really thick and strong. I've been playing this game every day for 3 weeks and the cards still look brand new. They don't bend or get gross like cheap cards do. This matters because kids are rough with cards and most games fall apart fast.
Each game only takes about 10 minutes. This is perfect because I can play a quick game before school or fit in 2 games after dinner. Most card games take way too long and I get bored halfway through.
You can play with up to 8 people which is awesome for birthday parties. Most games only let 4 people play so someone always gets left out. I tested it with 6 kids at once and it was still really fun.
The game makes you laugh because you have to say silly words really fast. When you mess up and say "pizza" instead of "goat" everyone starts laughing. It's not mean laughing, it's fun laughing.
Jake's Hands-On Testing
I played this game every single day after school for 3 weeks straight. That never happens with games. Usually I play something once and then forget about it.
The first week was the best. My whole family played together and even my dad was laughing. He usually just looks at his phone during game time but this game made him actually pay attention. We played 4 games in a row the first night.
By week 2, I brought it to school for indoor recess. Six kids played at once and everyone wanted to play again. The teacher even asked what game it was because we were having so much fun. Two kids asked their parents to buy it that same day.
After 3 weeks of playing, the cards still look perfect. I dropped the whole deck on the floor like 10 times and nothing happened. My little brother spilled juice near the cards once and they didn't get ruined. These cards are way stronger than normal playing cards.
The funniest part is watching people mess up. My mom kept saying "taco cat" really fast and it sounded like gibberish. My brother got so excited he forgot to slap the pile and just yelled "CHEESE!" really loud instead.
I timed our games and they're always between 8-12 minutes. Perfect length. Long enough to be fun but short enough that you want to play again right away. We usually end up playing 3 games in a row.
The game works great with different ages too. I played with my 5-year-old cousin and my 12-year-old sister at the same time. Everyone had fun and no one felt left out.
Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Wildly Entertaining Card Game for Family and Group Game Night | Easy to Learn and Play with 10-15 Minute Rounds | Fun for Kids, Teens, Adults, and Families | 2-8 Players vs The Competition
I compared this to Uno and Exploding Kittens because those are the other card games kids play.
Uno costs about the same at $9.99 but takes way longer to play. Some Uno games go on for like 30 minutes which is boring. Uno is better if you like strategy games but Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is better if you want to laugh and have fun fast.
Exploding Kittens costs $19.99 which is double the price. Exploding Kittens has funnier artwork and more cards but the rules are more complicated. My little brother can't really play Exploding Kittens but he loves Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.
Skip-Bo is another card game we have but it's super boring. You just put cards in order and there's no laughing or excitement. Skip-Bo is cheaper at $7.99 but it's not worth it because no one wants to play it twice.
If you want a game that makes everyone laugh and doesn't take forever, get Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. If you want something more strategic and don't mind longer games, get Uno instead.
Who Should Buy Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Wildly Entertaining Card Game for Family and Group Game Night | Easy to Learn and Play with 10-15 Minute Rounds | Fun for Kids, Teens, Adults, and Families | 2-8 Players (And Who Shouldn't)
This is perfect if you have kids between 5-12 years old who get bored with complicated games. It's also great for families who want something everyone can play together without anyone feeling left out.
Buy this if you need games for birthday parties or sleepovers. Eight kids can play at once and everyone has fun. It's way better than trying to find 8-player video games.
This is awesome for families who don't have a lot of time. You can play a full game in 10 minutes so it fits perfectly after dinner or before bedtime.
Skip this if you want a serious strategy game. This is all about being silly and having fun, not about thinking hard or planning moves.
Don't get this if you only play games with 2 people. It's way more fun with at least 4 people. Playing with just 2 people is kind of boring.
The Verdict: Is Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Wildly Entertaining Card Game for Family and Group Game Night | Easy to Learn and Play with 10-15 Minute Rounds | Fun for Kids, Teens, Adults, and Families | 2-8 Players Worth $9.95?
Yes, this game is totally worth $9.95. I've played it every day for 3 weeks and I still want to play it again tomorrow. The Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Wildly Entertaining Card Game for Family and Group Game Night | Easy to Learn and Play with 10-15 Minute Rounds | Fun for Kids, Teens, Adults, and Families | 2-8 Players makes everyone laugh and never gets boring.
The best thing is how simple it is but still really fun. Most games are either too easy and boring or too hard and frustrating. This one is just right.
